Awantec bags RM294mil Redtone Engineering's technology partner job for MyGovUC 3.0 project

CYBERJAYA : AwanBiru Technology Bhd's  (Awantec), unit has signed a RM294.27 million service agreement with Redtone Engineering & Network Services Sdn Bhd to be the technology partner for the roll out of MyGovUC3.0.

Awantec's unit Awantec Systems Sdn. Bhd. (ASSB) formalised the service agreement with Redtone Engineering on Feb 12, 2024.

Awantec's shares are halted from trading until 10am following the announcement.

The award comes days after Redtone Digital Bhd announced that its unit Redtone Engineering was awarded a RM398.1 million contract from the Malaysian Administrative Modernisation and Management Planning Unit (Mampu).

MyGovUC 3.0 is a continuation of the government's unified communication and collaboration project to increase the productivity and quality of public service delivery.

ASSB will be providing Cloud computing solutions and services which includes products such as Google Workspace Enterprise and Google Cloud Platform.

This strategic collaboration marks a significant milestone for Awantec as the sole Managed Service Provider (MSP) for Google Cloud in Malaysia under the government's Cloud Framework Agreement (CFA).

The service agreement is valued at RM294.27 million and spans a duration of 57.5 months, from Feb 14, 2024, to Nov 30th, 2028.

This collaboration demonstrates Awantec's critical role in pioneering digital transformation efforts and improving operations.

Awantec was classified an "affected listed issuer" in January 2021 after it lost a major lost partnership deal.

It has until April 13, 2024 to submit its regularisation plan to the relevant regulatory authorities for approval.

The company's share price last traded at 34.5 sen a share.
