Main road to Subang Airport to be realigned to ease traffic

SUBANG: There will be a realignment of the main road leading to Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport to alleviate congestion, KLIA Aeropolis Sdn Bhd head Randhill Singh said.

"The Selangor Airport Regeneration Plan (SARP) cannot succeed without a road realignment. Even as of today, congestion remains a significant issue," he said at a media familiarisation visit to SARP today.

Randhill said the matter has been thoroughly evaluated with the company having started discussions with the Ministry of Transport and Public Works Department.

"This is a critical aspect of our plan. In fact, obtaining approvals hinges on addressing this issue, including conducting traffic impact assessments and road safety audits.

"Road realignments will be necessary and quite extensive, and it will be part of the cost recovery," he added.

Randhill said there was a stream of road expansion that has been done.

"However, the next step involves initiating road development for the subsequent phase, which will require some additional time," he added.
