Malaysia Airlines appoints MMAG unit as narrow body freighter operator for MAB Kargo

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia Airlines Bhd has appointed MMAG Holdings Bhd's unit MJets Air Sdn Bhd as its dedicated narrow body freighter operator for MAB Kargo Sdn Bhd for a period of six months.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia Securities, MMAG said under the agreement, MJets Air  will provide a regional cargo feeder network using dedicated freighters  from May 1, 2024 to Oct 31, 2024.

The collaboration between MJets Air and MASKargo is aimed at optimising cargo transportation and logistics services to streamline operations and enhance efficiency, with the potential to generate mutual benefits for both entities and their respective clientele.

MMAG Group is a full-fledged supply chain service provider offering extensive services covering first, mid, and last-mile delivery solutions.

Its aviation arm, which operates from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), delivers integrated cargo airline solutions, encompassing commercial cargo operations, ground handling, an oceanic transshipment hub, and on-demand cargo depot services.

The appointment is expected to contribute positively to the overall future earnings of MMAG Group as well as the earnings per share of MMAG for the financial year ending March 31 2025.

MMAG's share price closed unchanged at 18.5 sen a share today, with some one million shares changing hands.
