Awantec applies for waiver and upliftment of affected listed issuer classification

KUALA LUMPUR: Awanbiru Technology Bhd (Awantec) said it applied for a waiver from having to submit its regularisation plan and for an upliftment of its classification as an affected listed issuer today.

Awantec had until April 13, 2024 to submit its regularisation plan.

The company said this was on the basis of tthe recent improvement in the financial performance of the company and its subsidiaries.

Pending the decision by Bursa Malaysia Securities, the company  has also applied for a further extension of time of six months from April 14, 2024 to Oct 13, 2024 for the company to submit a regularisation plan to the relevant regulatory authorities in the event that Bursa Securities does not approve the proposed waiver and upliftment.

In a separate announcement, the company also said today that its subsidiary Prestariang Skin Sdn Bhd is appealing a Kuala Lumpur High Court ruling which awarded it a third of its claim against the government of Malaysia, for the unilateral termination of Sistem Kawalan Imigresen Nasional (SKIN) project in 2019.

Awantec's share price was down 2.67 per cent to 36.5 sen a share, at market close.
