Datasonic champions environmental resposibility via mangrove tree planting

KUALA LUMPUR: Datasonic Group Bhd is championing environmental responsibility through its first mangrove tree planting programme.

Held at Paya Bakau recreational park in Sijangkang, Selangor on Nov 25, Datasonic planted 150 mangrove trees and seedlings, which brought together 100 participants.

They included Datasonic staff and students from SMK Seksyen 11 in Shah Alam, all of whom were dedicated to a sustainable future.

Datasonic director of strategic communications Safia Hanifah said the company is continuously looking for more sustainable ways to leave positive impacts on the environment and the community.

"This is part of Datasonic's ongoing efforts throughout the year, which is aligned with our LIFE's motto introduced in 2022. Today's mangrove tree planting is a testament to our dedication to these principles," she said.

"The main purpose is to advicate the importance of mangrove trees and their ecosystem aning our staff members and the community. Mangroves are often overlooked, especially by cirty dwellers, and our chosen location closer tothe seaside aims to bridge this awareness gap."

Safia added that to care for the environment is everyone's responsibility.

"Every little effort counts. Datasonic is still dedicated to its current recycling programme and hopes to take part in more ecologically friendly projects in the future.

"The organisation's commitment to making a meaningful and long-lasting difference in the communities it serves as well as the environment is demonstrated by the mangrove tree planting programme," Safia added.
