KUALA LUMPUR: Hong Leong Yamaha Motor today unveiled their much anticipated scooter, the NVX155. Introduced as "The Revolution in Innovation", the Yamaha NVX is packed with features.
Powered by the same engine as it's sibling, the NMax, the NVX is designed to appeal to a younger audience.
One of the most distinguishing features of the NVX is the smart key and other features include 14 inch rims with wide tubeless tyres, 25 litres of storage space under the seat, twin LED headlights and an LED taillight and brake light.
The power unit is a Blue Core liquid-cooled, fuel injected four stroke single with VVA (variable valve actuation). The engine is essentially the same unit as the NMax, but it is in a higher tune and produces a more spirited ride.
In this vein, the NVX will be featured in a one-make race during Malaysian Cub-Prix events. The NVX race is to promote young riders into the CubPrix scene. The first race will be held during the 6th round.
Datuk Jim Khor, HLYM's managing director said that the NVX also comes with a 5.8 inch Digital LCD meter which displays the tachometer, speedometer, VVA indicator and odometer. "Above that, its premium attributes includes the aforementioned smart key system and a start/stop system for better fuel efficiency".
The NVX is a certified EEV with a 2.2 l/km fuel consumption rating.
The NVX retails for RM10,500.00 and HLYM projects to sell at least 600 inits per month. It is available in Red, Black and Blue.
