Peugeot 3008 SUV the new milestone

Nasim Sdn Bhd, the official distributor for Peugeot vehicles in Malaysia, has launched the Peugeot 3008 sports utility vehicle (SUV).

Its senior general manager, Yasser Awan, said at the launch: “As the most modern and innovative SUV in its class, the 3008 SUV is the new milestone in its segment.

“Built on the principles of design, advanced technology and function, the 3008 SUV has a powerful and refined style that provides versatility that is unrivalled in its segment.”

The second generation Peugeot 3008 is offered in two variants: the Active and Allure.

The Active variant is priced at RM142,888, while the Allure variant retails for RM155,888. All prices quoted are excluding insurance but inclusive of six per cent GST.

Both variants are powered by a 1.6-litre THP with variable valve timing petrol engine, mated to a six-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters.

The mill produces 165hp at 6,000rpm and 240Nm of torque from 1,400rpm.

Peugeot claims that it has a fuel efficiency of 7 litres per 100km and a top speed of 211kph. The 3008 SUV can complete the century sprint in 8.9 seconds.

It measures 4,447mm in length, 1,841mm in width, 1,624mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,675mm. It has 591 litres of boot space with all its rear seats up and 53 litres of fuel-tank capacity.

The Active variant comes with halogen headlights with LED daytime running lights, halogen fog lamps and manually-operated fabric seats.

The Allure variant has full LED headlights with LED daytime running lights and sequential turn signals, ambient lights, and powered adjustable leather seats with memory function for the driver side.

The Allure variant has a different grille mesh, silver-painted front bumper underguard, as well as chrome trims at the lower section of the side doors.

Both variants are equipped with the “lion claw effect” LED tail lights, 18-inch alloy wheels, eight-inch touchscreen linked to its infotainment and climate control systems, six-speaker 3D Arkamys sound system, rear air-conditioning vents, armrest with 11-litres of cold storage, piano-key toggle switches, rectangular-shaped steering wheel, electric impulse gear control and electronic parking brake.

Peugeot’s advanced grip control comes with five driving modes and its award winning trademark i-Cockpit interior, which highlights the 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster available in both variants.

Both variants are fitted with six airbags, anti-lock braking system, electronic brake distributor, emergency brake assist, traction control, dynamic stability control, electronic stability programme, hill assist, lane departure warning, reverse camera with 180∞ view, front and rear parking sensors, as well as Isofix child seat mounting points.

It also gained the full five-star rating from Euro Ncap.

The vehicle is available in five colours: Metallic Copper, Magnetic Blue, Amazonite Grey, Ultimate Red and Pearl White.

All Peugeot models comes with a five-year manufacturer’s warranty, 24-hours Peugeot Assistance service and complimentary access to Sky Park Subang.

The 3008 SUV is on display in showrooms.
