Ladies of Harley Malaysia's ride 2018

HARLEY DAVIDSON of Petaling Jaya hosted the Ladies of Harley Malaysia’s 2018 ride to Melaka last week.

Twenty-two ladies took part, including celebrity Fauziah Latiff and former national cyclist Mariana Mohammad. The convoy rolled out from Harley Davidson Malaysia’s new headquarters in Petaling Jaya after breakfast.

As a lady rider, this writer was excited to meet other “sisters” that morning. Many were seasoned riders, but the thrill was still evident as they showed off their machines parked side by side at the hallway of the iconic The Gasket Alley.

“I have been riding for almost 10 years, and always look forward to these kind of rides with my ladies,” Fauziah said.

Despite her demure looks, Fauziah is all tough steel inside, with a deep passion for all things Harley.

“I do not mind the weather; rain or shine, the ride goes on,” she said.

From The Gasket Alley, the ladies rode to the Asam Pedas Lagenda for lunch, then continued their journey to Harley-Davidson Melaka in Taman Kota Laksamana.

The official launch of Harley-Davidson Melaka is next month.

“Riding on two wheels is different. You forget everything, not to mention the feeling of freedom,” Mariana said.

On how she would describe the Ladies of Harley Malaysia, Mariana answered “sisterhood”.

The convoy’s final destination was Villa DeMaison at A’Famosa Resort in Alor Gajah to rest for the night before heading back to Kuala Lumpur.
