SIME Darby Auto Performance Sdn Bhd, the authorised local Porsche importer, has launched 15 limited units of 718 Cayman SportDesign Series at a price of RM625,000 each.
The Series is available in three exterior colours — Racing Yellow, Guards Red and Carrara White Metallic — with five units available for each colour.
“The 718 Cayman SportDesign Series is aimed at drivers who appreciate a vehicle that is suitable for everyday use, but do not want to sacrifice sportiness,” said chief executive officer Christopher Hunter at the launching ceremony.
718 Cayman SportDesign Series stands out from the 718 model line in terms of performance and its visual design. The overallappearance has been enhanced by the SportDesign Package, which consists the newly-designed front spoiler and rear apron, centrally-positioned black tailpipes, carbon-fibre stripes, and black door handles.
Other standard features include the Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus, 20-inch dual-tone alloys, 14-way powered black leather sport seats, 10-speaker Bose surround sound system, Sport Chrono Package, carbon-fibre interior trims and the Porsche Active Suspension Management system.
The 718 Cayman SportDesign runs on a 2.0-litre turbocharged flat-four engine and is mated to a seven-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission, resulting in a 300 hp and 380 Nm of torque from 1,950 rpm to 4,500 rpm.
Porsche says it can complete the century sprint in 4.7 seconds and a top speed of 275 kph. It has a combined fuel consumption rating of 7.0 l/100km, urban 9.1 l/100 km, non-urban 5.8 l/100km and the CO2 emissions of 160 g/km.
The RM625,000 price tag includes all duties, but registration fee, road tax and insurance. The 718 Cayman SportDesign Series is covered with a four-year warranty and free maintenance package.
