Dr M unveils ultra-rare Perodua

KUALA LUMPUR: Production runs below 100 cars are usually the domain of supercars and exotics.

Cars like the Mercedes CLK GTR for example, which had a production run of just 25 units, or the Ferrari FERRARI FXX-K, with a production run of just 40.

But you can have your own taste of exclusivity if you buy the Perodua Bezza Limited Edition at the Malaysia Autoshow 2019, which opens to the public today through to Sunday.

The ultra-rare Perodua of which only 50 will be sold, was unveiled by Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and Perodua Global Manufacturing Sdn Bhd president Datuk Ahmad Suhaimi Hashim today.

Price of entry for the special Bezza is suprisingly affordable at just RM44,890. However, you should move fast, because this one-of-a-kind model will only be available for booking at the four-day event.

“The Perodua Bezza Limited Edition is all about sporty individuality. With GearUp accessories exclusive to this model, you can now proudly stand out from the crowd in Malaysia’s favourite sedan!” said Perodua Sales Sdn Bhd managing director Datuk Dr Zahari Husin.

Based on the more pedestrian Bezza 1.3 Premium X, the Perodua Bezza Limited Edition "contrasts its Ivory White paint with a full GearUp body kit finished in matte black with an all-round red lower pinstripe, a matte black rear spoiler, a blacked-out roof and dark grey alloys."

Red door mirror covers and geometric graphics on the bonnet and lower sides give a subtle flair to the otherwise understated styling.

GearUp seat covers with new red stitching, red air vent surrounds and GearUp coil mats give a heightened sense of luxury to the otherwise spartan interior.

Despite its limited run, you won't have to worry about parts availability.Over 145,000 units of the more common base model Perodua Bezza has been sold since 2016. The Bezza is Perodua’s first-ever sedan, with an upper body designed entirely in-house.
