KUALA LUMPUR: The Mazda MX-5 RF is now being updated for 2019, with a pack of enhancements to its comfort and convenience features as well as performance.
The hardtop roadster is now fitted with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto as standard. These functions are accessible via its Mazda Connect infotainment system.
Other updates include new black-metallic 17-inch wheels and a new telescopic steering wheel with 42mm of adjustment travel.
Although the Mazda MX-5 was never about power, a little extra sure never hurts. Therefore, the sports car’s SkyActiv-G 2.0-litre engine was given a 17 per cent improvement, resulting in 181hp and 205Nm of torque, with better torque curve across the entire rev range.
The 2019 Mazda MX-5 RF arrives in CBU (fully-imported) form and is available with two options of transmissions; the SkyActiv-Drive six-speed automatic with Manual Shift mode, and a six-speed manual transmission.
The car is priced from RM259,154 and is covered with a five-year manufacturer warranty and five-year free service maintenance inclusive of labour, parts and lubricants.
The colour line-up includes Soul Red Crystal, Machine Gray, Jet Black, Snowflake White Pearl, Eternal Blue, Ceramic Metallic and Artic White.
