Guest of HONOR: View20 swaggers onto smartphone scene with 3 world-1st technologies

HONG KONG: “Get outta here!”, “Say what?” and “Watchutalkinbout, Willis?”

These were the collective responses of the international media who were unable to ‘brain’ the mind-blowing announcements made at HONOR’s teaser event for its highly-anticipated View20 smartphone at H Queens here, on Monday.

The crowd couldn’t catch its breath, as HONOR General Manager of Product, Jimmy Xiong, let slip not one, not two, but THREE world-first technologies for the smartphone, which is to have a Beijing, China launch on Boxing Day and a global unveiling in Paris, France on Jan 22. (Until then, gadget geeks will just have to chew their nails into nonexistence).

HONOR appears to have genuinely blindsided the industry and practically electrocuted the digerati with the View20’s three ground-breaking innovations, which few are shy to proclaim will “revolutionise” the smartphone experience.

Even Chuck Norris approves: 48MP camera

People who like pottering around in the nude in their own homes will now have to keep their curtains drawn, as the View20’s 48-mega pixel rear camera – the most powerful on the market – lets urban landscape shutterbugs capture EVERYTHING. Featuring the superstar Sony IMX586 sensor, and boosted by AI computing and graphic processing power courtesy of the dual ISP and dual-IPU of its Kirin 980 chipset, the View20’s rear camera cranks out high-definition images which maintain their sharp details even when zoomed in. Note to high-end single-lens reflex cameras – sashay away.

So much WIN: All-View Display

The View20’s front camera will see all, but not itself be seen. HONOR has conjured up the first-ever in-screen front camera – embedded in the display panel – which allows the screen to stretch to almost 100 per cent of the smartphone’s front. The screen’s terrifyingly complex 18-layer technology stack has allowed HONOR to be the first in the industry to usher in the long-dreamed-of full-view smartphone display. The View20’s horizon-less screen is something to scream about.

Like a boss: Link Turbo

Want to stay online, all the time? Need a fast cyber experience that lasts? The View20’s Link Turbo will keep you perpetually connected and endlessly accelerated. Using AI and big data technologies, the Link Turbo will switch seamlessly between Wi-Fi and 4G networks to keep you constantly plugged in; and adopt both networks to boost your total download speeds. Ain’t nobody DON’T got time for that!

“As a trendsetter, HONOR continues to push the limits of innovation and product craftsmanship… we will endeavour to continually deliver technology breakthroughs to the world and exceptional experience for users,” Xiong said on Monday.

He gave us his word of HONOR – and we were sold.
