Dr M urges government to expel defence contractors supplying weapons to Israel

PETALING JAYA: Former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir has called on the government to order a number of defence contractors that provide weapons to Israel to leave the country.

"Several weapons manufacturers, currently being used against the Palestinian people, who are reported to be present at the Defence and Service Asia (DSA) and NATSEC Asia 2024 Exhibition, should be ordered to leave Malaysia as soon as possible," he said in a post on X today.

He said two of the major companies are suppliers of weapons to the Zionist regime, carrying out attacks and bombings on the Palestinian people since October 7 last year.

"Their presence in Malaysia at the invitation of DSA and NATSEC Asia 2024, in cooperation with the Ministry of Defence, is highly offensive and insulting to the struggle of the Palestinian people and the support of the Malaysian people who oppose the genocide happening in Gaza.

He said that while they were present at earlier exhibitions, the current circumstances were extraordinary and the genocide by the Zionists against the Palestines were cruel and inhumane.

He added that the government and Ministy of Defence should take firm action and direct the companies out of the country immediately.
