#TECH: AMD's new desktop processor for gamers and content creators

KUALA LUMPUR: AMD has revealed the Ryzen 7000 Series Desktop processor lineup powered by the 'Zen 4' architecture.

AMD Client business unit's senior vice president and general manager Saeid Moshkelani said the AMD Ryzen 7000 Series give power for content creation, advanced scalability with the new AMD Socket AM5.

"With the next generation Ryzen 7000 Series Desktop processors, we are proud to uphold our promise of leadership and continuous innovation, delivering the ultimate PC experience for gamers and creators alike," he said.

AMD RYZEN 7000 SERIES DESKTOP PROCESSORS

The AMD Ryzen 7000 Series includes 'Zen 4' architecture that's great for gaming and content creation.

For the 16-core AMD Ryzen 9 7950X processor, it has up to 57 per cent better performance in V-Ray Render while the 6-core AMD Ryzen 5 7600X processor offers 5 per cent faster gaming performance.

The AMD Ryzen 7950X processor is 47 per cent more energy efficient while the Ryzen 7000 Series Processors features a 6nm I/O die.

It is now more efficient thanks to AMD's ultra-efficient mobile processors.

The Ryzen 7000 Series Desktop processors is going to be available globally from Sept 27 at US$299 (RM1,339).

NEW UPDATES

AMD is also unveiling a new Socket AM5 platform with features like dual-channel DDR5 memory.

The AM5 platform has up to 24 PCle 5.0 lanes and supports new technologies like PCle Gen 5 and DDR5 memory for platform longevity through 2025 and beyond.

Moreover, the Socket AM5 motherboard has new chipsets namely AMD X670 Extreme, AMD X670, AMD B650E, AMD B650.

New motherboards will be available at US$125 with the AMD X670 and X670E chipsets coming in September, while the AMD B650E and B650 chipsets in October.
