#TECH: Realme unveils 108MP entry-level phone

Realme has just unveiled an entry-level smartphone - the C67.
Featuring a Snapdragon 685 platform, 108MP main shooter, 360-degree NFC, and IP54 protection, the phone is said capable of giving users a mid-entry performance.
According to realme, in the next five years, it aims to be a tech brand that lets young users worldwide enjoy tech experiences that exceed expectations.
In an effort to realise its goals, the company will further enhance its product, technological advancement, and brand strength. The new strategy gives birth to 'Make it real', a new slogan that retains the spirit of realme's Dare to Leap while focusing more on bringing tangible benefits to young users' lives.
It said, the ambition will first start with the realme C67.
Snapdragon 685 platform
As a capable chipset in the entry-level segment, the Snapdragon 685 platform on realme C67 delivers enhanced productivity and photography experiences. The phone is the first smartphone in the realme C series to feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset.
Realme said mobile gaming thrives with improved Kryo CPU and Adreno GPU performances and FPS optimisation boosters, offering faster graphics rendering for immersive, smoother gaming.
In addition, the 6nm chipset can speed up applications' load time and efficiency with lower power consumption.
Camera
The Qualcomm-supported 108MP main shooter. realme C67's segment-leading imaging capabilities are further amplified with the 3x in-sensor Zoom, which enables users to snap better photos that retain rich details without compromising on quality.
This is the first time realme offers a 3x In-sensor Zoom within this price segment.
Meanwhile, realme C67 also supports 3x Portrait Mode, Night Mode, and new Street Photography Filters for a versatile photography experience.
Other features
The realme C67 also offers Mini Capsule 2.0, 360-degree NFC, IP54 protection, and a dual-stereo speaker.
The company said the Mini Capsule received an upgrade in the form of Mini Capsule 2.0, where users can enjoy three new exciting features: Music, Weather, and Event.
Instead of operating within the streaming app, users can now easily control the song – whether to pause, resume, or next – by tapping and swiping the Mini Capsule. Meanwhile, the Weather informs users of the weather information, whereas the Event will notify them of upcoming events and tasks.
In addition, the enhanced NFC feature significantly improves the success rate of card swipes, simplifying users' daily interactions. For the first time in C-series' history, realme C67 comes with IP54 protection that prevents the intrusion of water from splashing in all directions. The Champion-like mobile phone has also undergone over 320 stringent tests to ensure its durability.
When it comes to design, the 6.72-inch phone takes the leap to ditch the screen plastic bracket, which is a feature typically seen in flagship devices due to structural complexity. The removal of the bracket makes the phone's screen and bezel fit tighter, minimising the black edges of the phone and allowing for better waterproofing and dust proofing capabilities.
Measuring 7.59mm ultra-thin body, said to be the thinnest in the segment, the realme C67 is available in two colour options: Sunny Oasis and Black Rock. It adorns a three-dimensional light effect made with a three-colour gradient coating process. The bright, dynamic texture and sparkling lens ring resemble an oasis sprinkled with sunlight, giving a positive sense of energy and hope.
The realme C67 offers an expandable RAM of up to 16GB RAM, and large storage of up to 256GB, allowing users to store more than 57,000 photos. Its 33W SUPERVOOC Fast Charging can juice up its 5,000mAh battery capacity from 0 to 50 per cent in 26 minutes.
