FK by Farah Khan for Zalora

Hari Raya Aidilfitri is more than two months away, but the online retail scene is heating up with collaborations and collections to lure customer purchase.

Zalora is teaming up with founder of Melium Group who is also the creative director of luxury fashion label Farah Khan, Datuk Seri Farah Khan for Modern Marrakech, a new FK by Farah Khan collection.

Inspired by the romance and Islamic architecture of Marrakech during a trip, the entrepreneur and her team designed a unique collection of kaftans, kebaya and kurung for the modern Muslim women.

The collection also features baju raya for kids, providing lovely mother-and-daughter complementary outfit options for the festive season.

According to the brand, Marrakech’s curious way of life, steeped in a unique East-meets-West ways, has long inspired Farah. On one trip, with her design team in tow, navigating markets and photographing gardens, they started a visual diary kept secretly for years.

Years later, the romance of Marrakech is realised in a Raya Collection with Zalora, featuring a woman who interprets modesty with modernity.

Inspired by the Jardin Majorelle, blue is its source of infinite inspirations and forms the principal character of the collection, resulting in kaftans, kebaya and kurung that echo the brand’s signature ease.

Médersa Ben Youssef, a historical Islamic site, carried the signs of the city with its storied courtyards and intricate mosaics, which are reimagined as patterns that trim or shapes that flatter, infusing this distinctly modern Raya Collection with rich history and cultural traditions.

Famed for its multilayered textures that are the result of intricate beadwork, the brand has employed trompe l’oeil to create similarly rich-looking surfaces for a truly unique collection. In the place of its beading needle is the Farah Khan label’s first foray into digital printing. It gives a new lightness, as sheets of weightless fabric can now carry the brand’s DNA.

The collection will launch on Friday at www.zalora.my Prices range from RM270 to RM780.
