#Showbiz: Security heightened for Salman Khan's brother-in-law Aayush Sharma amid death threats

KUALA LUMPUR: After Bollywood superstar Salman Khan received death threats, his brother-in-law actor Aayush Sharma is now also under the protection of the Mumbai Police due to similar threats he has received.

In a recent news report, the 33-year-old actor's security has been beefed up ahead of the release of his film 'Ruslaan'.

The report quoted a source saying: "Since Aayush will be out and about promoting his action thriller, he has been assigned cops for his protection. The actor will also travel in Salman's bulletproof vehicle."

In November 2023, the police deployed Y+ security for Salman after he received threats via a social media account believed to be the account owned by a gangster leader known as Lawrence Bishnoi.

Salman bought a bulletproof car last year and reportedly, he had also been authorised to carry a personal weapon.

The Y+ security is usually given by the police force in India to people dealing with high threat perception.

It includes the deployment of personal security officers (PSOs) working in three shifts round the clock, along with armed guards stationed at the person's residence.
