Vans releases sustainable shoe collection

Vans is walking towards sustainable fashion in style after the debut of its first vegan shoe collection called Eco Theory.

The footwear collection is a product of the brand's ongoing effort to reduce carbon footprint. Eco Theory, the brand says, "re-imagines the materials used for shoes".

This collection sees Vans bringing back some of its best-loved Surf Classics silhouettes such as the Authentic, Slip-On and Style 36 Decon SF, revamped with sustainable materials.

The shoes are constructed with materials such as organic cotton, a new Eco Vans natural rubber, jute laces, cork-lined footbed and water-based inks and glues.

The Eco rubber used as the outsole is responsibly obtained from sources that follow proven ethical and sustainable practices and is developed to maintain the shoes' grip and durability.

Vans professional surfer Dane Gudauskas says: "Sustainability has to be at the forefront of Vans for the future. It's a fantastic moment to own the space and contribute to a more sustainable way of producing."

The Vans Surf Eco Theory collection is now available on Vans Flagship Stores on Lazada.
