Erma Fatima and Bade Azmi have called it quits after 27 years

KUALA LUMPUR: Producer-director-actress Fatimah Rahmad a.k.a. Erma Fatima, and her director husband Badaruddin Azmi, better known as Bade, have divorced after 27 years of marriage.

According to BH Online, the union ended after Bade pronounced "talak satu" (divorce pronouncement) against her at the Gombak Timur Syariah Court here, this morning.

Erma, 49, who produced and played the titular role of Mak Cun in the popular hit TV series of the same name, arrived at the courts at about 11 am in a black MPV, accompanied by her younger sister, actress Betty Rahmad.

Bade arrived about half an hour earlier.

It is reported that Bade, 53, had earlier filed for a divorce on Aug 10 at the same court, under Section 47 of the Selangor Islamic Family Law Enactmenr 2003.

In October 2015, Erma filed for a divorce but decided to drop the case five months later. It was speculated that Bade’s marriage to Aida Abdul in 2014 was the reason behind Erma's decision for the split.

The director of 2002's KL Menjerit and 2004's Berlari Ke Langit and Erma tied the knot on Nov 30, 1991. They have five adopted children - Syamil Ikhwan 24, Ahmad Arir, 22, Citra, 20, and Nurain, 11.
