Special screening of hit animation Ejen Ali at GSC Cinema to kick off Season 2

KUALA LUMPUR: Fans of the hit animation series Ejen Ali were very excited to catch the agent in the theatre for the first time, in a two-day special screening at GSC Cinema in 1 Utama as it entered season 2.

Primeworks Studios chief executive officer Ahmad Izham Omar congratulated the Primeworks and Media Prima Berhad's team for their excellent job in producing Ejen Ali, Season 2.

"The new season premiered on Friday and the response has been overwhelming," he said when met after the special screening at the cinema.

"Ejen Ali also happens to be the first animation series which is the first intellect property of Media Prima Berhad (MPB). Based on the response and fans excitement, we are confident its sure to be a hit," Izham said, adding that the first season of Ejen Ali had been sold to 28 countries.

The special screening of latest season’s first and second episodes scheduled at 12pm, 2pm and 6pm on Sept 23 and Sept 24, was in conjunction with the launch of Season 2.

Movie-goers and Ejen Ali fans, who caught the special screening, also had a chance to take photographs with the Ejen Ali mascot and an autographed posters of the show on Saturday.

"The response we received from the crowd was very encouraging and overwhelming, especially since Ejen Ali is just a local series, not even a movie.

When asked if the team would consider producing an Ejen Ali movie, Izham said after seeing the crowd's engagement at the cinema, he's confident that they could invest in producing a movie.

"As we all know making a movie isn't cheap and Malaysian movies furthermore are not among the favourites, however we are now confident that investing in making a movie out of the series would set in well," he said.
