KUALA LUMPUR: Popular celebrity couple Awal Ashaari, 36, and Scha Al-Yahya, 34, seemed to have hit their boiling point over a comment on Instagram made by a follower recently about their 3-year-old daughter, Lara Alanna.
The comment by user @orchidpimlico was posted after Awal had shared an image of an inspirational quote about life.
The user wrote that Lara’s development was extremely slow, therefore Awal and Scha should consult with professionals regarding her slow progress.
It read: “Lara really needs to be consulted with a specialist to check why she’s too slow.”
The user also suggested that Awal and Scha should prioritise on Lara’s activities and education, and spend more quality time with their daughter to create a stronger bond.
The comment immediately caused a stir on social media, with Netizens claiming the remark was out of line and rude.
Awal, who is not shy to hit back at overly opinionated Netizens, responded with: “It’s sad when people judge what they see based on Instagram. All I can say is you’re nothing but a total stranger. Whether my child’s development is slow or fast, that’s my problem, not yours.”
Scha then responded to the comment and wrote: “Just so you know, if I don’t post QT (quality time) with my daughter, doesn’t mean I don’t do it. I don’t share everything here. And about her development, don’t worry as we have a great team supporting us since she was 17 months. Slow or fast, progress is progress.”
Awal and Scha tied the knot back in May 4, 2012. Lara is their only child.
