Actress Rita Rudaini slammed for letting her kids celebrate Halloween

KUALA LUMPUR: Although Halloween is celebrated on Oct 31 (today), many kids kicked off the spooky holiday by going trick-or-treating last weekend, including actress Rita Rudaini’s children.

But as celebrities who can never escape social media scrutiny, the photos and videos Rita shared on her Instagram of her kids going trick-or-treating created somewhat of a stir among Netizens, criticising the mother-of-two for allowing her sons “celebrate” Halloween.

A photo of her younger son, Airit Qaqa Arjuna, 6, dressed in a Dracula costume drew some comments from Instagram users who claimed that celebrating Halloween, even for the fun of it, could eventually lead her to be misguided in her beliefs as a Muslim.

In one of her videos which showed her home decorated with carved pumpkins and Halloween decorations, included a caption: “I live in a neighbourhood and community that celebrates multiple holidays, so it’s not wrong if we celebrate other holidays as well for as long as we know our intentions.”

The 41-year-old artiste even received some parenting advice from her followers.

A user, @dahsaliana80 said: “You are your kids’ only hope to guide them and teach them about religion, they’re still young.”
