#Showbiz: I've given Aidil opportunities to meet his children, says Rita Rudaini on ex-husband

KUALA LUMPUR: Actress Rita Rudaini is disappointed that she's seen as not having 'moved on' with her separation from football player, Aidil Zafuan Abd Radzak, since she often makes statements about her ex-husband.

The 47-year-old artiste said she had long forgotten the episode of her split with the national football star and only talked about it when asked.

She added that things are often misinterpreted with accusations of her being fond of peddling bad things about her ex-husband.

"People often say I started it while I was only answering people's questions.

"And my answers are often used as 'news headlines'. If I don't answer, I'm labelled as being discourteous," she said in a news report yesterday.

The mother of two sons, Airit Rayyan Rizqin, 15, and Airit Qaqa Arjuna, 13, said that she had been happy living together as a trio for more than a decade.

Rita added that she was also reluctant to revisit the 'black' memories since it would be emotionally devastating and she also worried that it would affect the children.

"It's enough and I don't want to remember anymore. If I do, I can't focus on anything else and I get angry.

"My children and I are now used to it and we are happy even though it's only the three of us living together.

"It's not that I didn't give my ex-husband the opportunity to meet the children. I once gave him a 'due date' before the children went to kindergarten but unfortunately, there was no effort on his part," she said.

Rita added that she also provided opportunities until the children had gone to Year One, but there was still no response from Aidil, which made her give up.

"Until today, their father has made no effort to meet them. He knows how to contact me, my telephone number is still the same and I still live in the same house.

"I also empowered a lawyer as a representative to talk to him but unfortunately, there was no immediate response. So, that's enough.

"I don't want anything, I just want Aidil to be with my children during important moments such as school registrations and celebrations.

"I don't want to make enemies, but as a mother, I am sad that my children are not going through moments like other children, which makes me more sad," she said.

Previously, Rita and Aidil tied the knot in 2008, but divorced in September of 2013.
