(Showbiz) K-actor Park Bo-gum awarded for promoting South Korea

KUALA LUMPUR: Thanks to his immense influence among K-drama fans, actor Park Bo-gum was presented with the Special Achievement award at the 2017 Korea Tourism Awards yesterday in Seoul.

Now in its seventh year, the awards ceremony celebrates the achievements of those who contribute in spreading the knowledge on South Korea and its history and traditions.

And Park, 24, definitely had done his bid through his acting in the high-rated K-dramas Reply 1988 and Love In The Moonlight.

The actor also went on a fan meeting tour which took him to eight Asian cities, starting with Kuala Lumpur in December last year.

To top it all off, he was placed at no. 1 in Forbes Korea’s list of Power Celebrity Of 2017 last February.

“I am greatly honoured to receive such an award and would like to thank all of my seniors in the industry who have worked hard to let South Korea shine brightly,” said Park in a news report by allkpop.

“I hope to continue working on fun and exciting projects and spread the Korean culture around the world.”

The 2017 Korea Tourism Awards was co-organised by the South Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organisation.
