KUALA LUMPUR: It’s a bird. It’s a plane. No, it’s popular actress, TV host and successful entrepreneur Noor Neelofa Mohd Noor zipping across the Dubai skyline like Supergirl!
The famous personality showed off her daredevil side by posting an entry on her personal Instagram account yesterday with a caption: Doing Xline at Dubai Marina, where I zipped down among all the tall buildings in Dubai! Ticking off one thing of my bucket list!
The post, which so far had garnered over 800,000 likes and more than 3,000 comments, was accompanied by a video that saw Neelofa being prepped for the extreme ziplining experience (lying on her belly and facing forwards) on a ledge of a skyscraper before zooming off down below at a steep incline.
The new XLine, apparently launched earlier this month, is said to not only be the world’s longest urban zipline, but also one of the steepest and fastest.
Measuring one kilometre in length, it is set at a 16-degree incline and allows for travelling speeds at an average of 80km/h.
The Superman-styled harness apparently offers two daring individuals to experience it simultaneously via two concurrently running ziplines.
An online sports portal reported that the new XLine gave participants an electrifying flight-like experience as they zipped from one of the Amwaj towers in the Jumeirah Beach Residence area, 170m in the air, weaved through skyscrapers and across water before landing further down on the terrace of the Dubai Marina Mall.
