(Showbiz) K-Pop group Wanna One members spend four days exploring KL before tonight's fanmeet

KUALA LUMPUR: It’s rare for a popular K-Pop artiste to be seen walking around Malaysia’s capital city, in case they get mobbed by fans.

But K-Pop group Wanna One who is in town took that chance anyway since they had four free days before their fan meeting tonight at Stadium Negara.

The 11-member outfit arrived here on Monday and had been doing lots of shopping at Pavilion KL and, of course, eating, based on the photos fans had posted on Twitter.

Wanna One’s members comprise finalists of the survival reality competition “Produce 101” (Season 2), namely Daniel, Jihoon, Daehwi, Jaehwan, Seongwoo, Woojin, Guanlin, Jisung, Minhyun, Jinyoung and Sungwoon.

When met at a Press conference at JW Marriott Hotel earlier today, the group was asked what dish did they particularly enjoy, and Jinyoung quickly uttered “Mee goreng!”

“We also had a chance to go to a night market and try some unique delicacies like frog meat and coconut ice-cream,” said another member Seungwoo.

“I think that definitely adds up to the amazing experience we’ve had in Malaysia so far.”

Currently the hottest rookie group in South Korea, Wanna One had been widely accepted globally even before its debut in August last year.

It led to several chart-topping hits including Energetic, two successful mini-albums and a full-house debut concert.

Vocalist Jae-hwan said, “We couldn’t believe it at first that our songs topped the charts for weeks upon our debut.

“We see ourselves as an ordinary boy group so the fans’ incredible support has been amazing.”
