KUALA LUMPUR: While award-winning songstress Dayang Nurfaizah is often associated with power ballads, the Kuching-born artiste admits that she occasionally sings K-Pop songs for friends and fans.
"I'm not a major fan, but Kpop songs occasionally appeal to me. My favourite groups are Big Bang and 2Ne1," said Dayang in a recent interview with Hot TV.
When asked if she could speak Korean, Dayang admitted that she only knew the terms "saranghae" ("love you") and "kamsahabnida" ("thank you").
"I find Korean pretty difficult to learn, even my pronounciations need to be corrected, but I find the tunes catchy and entertaining," she said.
Dayang's interview which appeared on YouTube generated more than 18,438 views and Netizens praised her for "daring to be different".
