KUALA LUMPUR: AOA's Seolhyun is seeing red following the spread in cyberspace of a photo which has been doctored to make her "semi-nude".
Soompi reported today that cyber-bullies targeted the popular Korean singer, photoshopping her face onto the body of a naked woman and circulating it on the internet over the weekend.
To make matters worse, the unidentified individuals who uploaded the picture claimed to have obtained it from her ex-boyfriend, hip-hop singer Zico whose phone was reportedly stolen recently.
Seolhyun's management company FNC Entertainment said on Monday that they will be filing an official complaint against the persons responsible for leaking the picture. They will also pursue defamation charges against the culprits.
"The fake image of Seolhyun that was spread via social media is character assassination. We will file a lawsuit after gleaning the relevant data and checking its distribution routes," FNC said in a statement today.
"We will punish the photo's makers and distributors. We will show no mercy to those responsible for her defamation."
The website containing the doctored photo also had photoshopped images of Hollywood actresses such as Kristen Stewart and Miley Cyrus.
Seolhyun and Zico dated for two months beginning August 2016.
