KUALA LUMPUR: Flydol Ronnie won Fly FM’s Flydol: Sing It To Win It at the finale of the contest, broadcast live simultaneously via Fly FM and Fly FM’s Facebook Live on Thursday.
Ronnie or Mohd Dzulhisyam Ismail, 29, from Sabah, beat Flydol Hashmita and took home the cash prize of RM10,000 and the opportunity to release his very own single, Something New, which will be produced by the lead singer of Paperplane Pursuit, John O.
The finale week of the competition garnered a total of 31,665 online votes, as audited by the Group Corporate Governance of Media Prima Berhad.
Apart from the public votes, Ronnie and Hashmita were judged by professional judges made up of Primeworks Studios’ chief executive officer Datuk Ahmad Izham Omar and singer and vocal coach Vince Chong.
Besides performing covers by Charlie Puth and Maroon 5, both finalists also belted out their rendition of the song Something New.
While the contest is finally over, Flydol 2018: Sing It To Win It will continue to give listeners a chance to win cash prize of RM500 and other prizes.
Beginning April 23 till May 11, when listeners hear Something New being played on Fly FM, be the fifth caller through and sing the chorus back perfectly, and you could win a cool sum of RM500! If someone messes up, the amount will accumulate till the next time the tune comes on air again.
