KUALA LUMPUR: Uber hot K-Pop outfit BTS has a busy schedule in the US this month!
According to Soompi, the seven-member South Korean group was seen at Incheon airport yesterday to catch a flight to Los Angeles.
The group was earlier reported to be attending the upcoming Billboard Music Awards which takes place on May 20.
Last year, BTS attended the event for the first time and won the Top Social Artiste award. It was nominated once again for the same award this year.
But the group will make history this time for being the first ever K-Pop group to perform at the BBMAs.
BTS will also be making a comeback two days before the BBMAs with the release of a new full album “Love Yourself: Tear”.
According to the BBMAs, BTS will showcase a world television premiere of its new single, which has got fans excited.
The 2018 BBMAs, to be hosted by Kelly Clarkson, will also feature performances by the likes of Janet Jackson, Camila Cabello, Shawn Mendes, Christina Aguilera, Demi Lovato and Dua Lipa.
Last October, BTS’ previous album “Love Yourself: Her” peaked at No. 7 on the Billboard 200 chart.
The group’s “Mic Drop” remix with Steve Aoki and Desiigner also became the act’s first song within the Top 40 of the Hot 100, where it hit No. 28.
The track and another song “DNA” have since both been certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
Continuing its domination of the US, the group will also appear on the Ellen Degeneres show for a second time to promote its upcoming album.
