#Showbiz: Che Ta defends artistes' stand on showing support for Che Det

KUALA LUMPUR: Popular actress Rozita Che Wan recently uploaded a status on her Instagram explaining why only now certain celebrities are showing their support for the newly re-elected seventh prime minister of Malaysia.

The 45-year-old Alor Star-born uploaded a collage photos of fellow Kedahan, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, with a caption that explains why celebrities had kept their support for him to themselves before this.

“Lama saya simpan gambar ni. Tak boleh upload, nanti mereka kacau, suruh delete. Lepas ni dah boleh dah upload gambar lagu mana pun.”

(It’s been a while since I had these photos, but could not post them on social media, for fear of being disturbed by certain powers-that-be. But I’m glad we could do so (showing their support for Dr Mahathir) now.)

The actress added that it was not because they were being insincere, but kept it hushed simply because they wanted to be cautious.

Prior to her posting, Netizens were accusing some celebrities of being two-faced when all of a sudden they start to show their support for Dr Mahathir only after he came back into power after the recent general election.

Che Ta also added that they were just as happy as many other Malaysians who were thrilled for his achievement, and not as if they were asking for money from Che Det.
