KUALA LUMPUR: Child star Puteri Balqis Azizi is fighting cancer, her mother confirms.
Norashikin Mohd Aziz was responding to a question on her 11-year-old daughter's health condition following the latter uploading a picture on her Instagram with the hashtag #fightcancer.
She however did not go into the details of Puteri Balqis' cancer.
"I am sorry, for now I do not want to be interviewed. Her fever has yet to go away. She is problems with her heart and lungs as well, whatever it is, she is getting stronger," Norashikin told BH Online via WhatsApp.
Last May, Norashikin confirmed her daughter who had been active in the entertainment industry since she was 2, was suffering from heart problems which started with continuous fever and frequent vomitting.
Recently, Puteri Balqis who bagged the Best Actress Award at the 19th Asian Television Awards in 2014, was seen in an Instagram photo wearing a face mask, looking upbeat.
The photo, posted on her account @rockingbalqis, was accompanied with the caption: "Went for her treatment this evening. Alhamdulillah Puteri is getting better. #rockingbalqis #fightcancer."
