KUALA LUMPUR: Surf This Love actress Ardell Aryana is wheelchair-bound, as her latest Instagram video uploaded yesterday has revealed.
The 28-year-old Ardell, or Nurul Hidayah Mohd Amin, was shown visiting a shopping mall with her mother who readily pushed her wheelchair around.
The actress captioned her two-minute video with a poignant birthday greeting to her mother which read: “Today is my mother’s birthday, thank you so much, mum, for your patience, efforts and prayers. May God always bless you, and I’ll always love you.”
Ardell added: “Mum, you’re not only my mother but also my best friend, God’s greatest gift to me. You will always be in my thoughts and prayers.”
The video had more than 500,000 views and 2,000 comments, and Netizens expressed concern for Ardell’s health, following rumours that she was suffering from cancer.
Last month, Ardell’s close friend, actor Nadzmi Adhwa said on Instagram that she would soon be undergoing therapy for an illness, but did not specify what it was.
He advised Ardell to “fight” her illness and get well soon.
The actress also said on her Instagram that she was “trying to be strong” in the face of an unexpected health problem.
“Be strong sister. May God protect you always,” said Bunga.
“Ardell, the best gift you can give your mother is a speedy recovery. We all pray for you to fight your illness and be healthy again,” said Wany.
