PM extends aid to wheelchair-bound veteran singer Sheqal

KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim recently offered a donation to veteran singer Shahrin Salehuddin, better known as Sheqal, who is now in a wheelchair after suffering four strokes.

Bernama reported that the donation to help the 58-year-old artiste with his daily and medical affairs was delivered by his political secretary, Ahmad Farhan Fauzi, who had the opportunity to visit the singer at his home.

"I pray for him to be blessed with afiyah and always be given strength to continue life with his beloved family, God willing," said Anwar in a recent post on his Facebook page.

The prime minister also shared a picture of Ahmad Farhan visiting Sheqal, who was popular in the 1990s and known for the song Cinta Nusantara.

The singer was previously reported to have been admitted to the Tuanku Jaafar Hospital in Seremban, Negri Sembilan and is currently resting at home.
