KUALA LUMPUR: Talk about a “big bang” ending! K-Pop fans will rejoice at the fact that popular South Korean groups Super Junior and iKON are set to perform at the closing ceremony of the 2018 Asian Games, currently being hosted by Indonesia.
According to Soompi, the good news was revealed in posts on the official Instagram account for the 2018 Asian Games yesterday, accompanied with photos of the two seven-membered music groups.
The post conveyed the message that there were numerous great performances in store and urged people to quickly get their tickets in order to experience the “energy of Asia” at the upcoming event.
The 2018 Asian Games closing ceremony is expected to happen on Sunday at the GBK main stadium in Jakarta.
Fans of the two groups naturally left many positive and congratulatory comments on IG, with quite a number speculating on which songs their idols would be performing during the event.
Malaysian K-Pop lovers who can’t make it to Indonesia can expect to see iKON on home ground at Stadium Malawati in Shah Alam on Oct 13 as part of the outfit’s 2018 Continue Tour in KL.
Local Super Junior fans had already got a taste of the group at the K-Wave 2 Music Festival, which took place at Stadium Merdeka last January.
