#Showbiz: 20 trophies — Fazley's biggest win as celebrity chef!

KUALA LUMPUR: Singer and celebrity chef Datuk Fazley Yaakob will always mark Nov 1 as the day he achieved his biggest culinary victory.

The winner of MasterChef Selebriti Malaysia 2012 took home 20 trophies for his restaurants SukaSucre Bistro and Mamanda Kuala Lumpur at the Malaysia International Gastronomy Festival 2018 (MIGF2018) awards ceremony at Ruyi & Lyn Restaurant, Bangsar Shopping Centre yesterday.

A delighted Fazley, 40, said it was “yet another victory” for SukaSucre which won 11 out of the 25 trophies in MIGF2016.

“Best of all, I took home the Golden Chef Award 2018. It’s truly a November to remember!”

SukaSucre Bistro in Taman Pertama, Cheras, won 13 trophies at MIGF2018, among them being Most Creative Restaurant Station At Taste, Most Creative Food Presentation At Taste and Most Popular Restaurant At The VIP Gala Launch — Portion Sold.

Mamanda Kuala Lumpur in Bukit Kiara won seven trophies, among them being Most Creative Restaurant Station At Taste, Most Creative Food Presentation At Taste and Most Innovative Cuisine At Taste.

“It’s not my victory alone, it’s our victory, largely from the efforts of my dedicated staff who helped me make the restaurants a success,” said Fazley in an interview with the NST in Balai Berita, here today.

MIGF2018 which carried the theme “Muhibah Chefs — Good Food Brings Us Together” saw participation from 27 restaurants, and was held from Sept 1 to 30.

Fazley also said he would be opening a third restaurant, Bunga Telang by SukaSucre Bistro in Bukit Damansara early next month.

Besides promoting his newest single Wo Ai De Ni, he will be releasing a Chinese song Yin Wei Ni composed by Isabella next month.
