#Showbiz: A surprise from Pak Nil on first day of school

KUALA LUMPUR: The 666 pupils of Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Permatang Badak in Kuantan had an exciting first day of school today when popular TV host and actor Datuk Aznil Nawawi or better known as Pak Nil paid them a surprise visit.

The children were thrilled to meet and have their photos taken with the 56-year-old celebrity in the flesh.

Pak Nil spent about an hour with the pupils, participating in various activities. He also gave them some words of motivation to start the school year.

Pak Nil, in a news report today, said that his visit was part of a collaborative effort between his Yayasan Pesona, and the Education Ministry.

The initiative is part of Pak Nil’s plans to share his experience and interact with the kids in order to help build self-confidence and good communication skills.

“Including this school, I have so far visited three schools. The other two were SK Seberang Dungun and Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Pulau Serai, both in Dungun, Terengganu.

“I’m here to encourage school-going kids to enjoy being in school as it’s a place where they learn and also build self-confidence.

“Especially for the Standard One students, the first day of school is always a memorable one then. We want to instil in their minds that school is a fun place to be at,” he said.
