#Showbiz: 'Looks like me, acts like me, but more handsome than me'

KUALA LUMPUR: “My phone has been off the charts with notifications, asking me if I’m the model in the video.”

This was foodie show Jalan-Jalan Cari Makan host Nazrudin Habibur Rahman’s response to a viral video on Twitter last Wednesday which purportedly featured him in pyjamas and flashing a broad smile.

Nazrudin or Naz seldom acts, but fans of the 40-year-old artiste would love to see him do more.

The 25-second video on 9GAG’s Twitter account purportedly showed Naz posing with pyjamas in a studio with three other models who portrayed his wife, son and daughter.

Netizens, including comedian Harith Iskander, commended Naz for displaying versatile facial expressions and the very smile which made him look adorable.

Actually, the man in the video is not Naz, but a South Korean actor who bore an uncanny resemblance to the chatty star of 8TV drama series Ghost.

In response to the video which garnered more than 15,000 retweets and 10,000 likes, Naz tweeted: “Thank you for the mentions guys, but it ain’t me.

“Looks like me, acts like me, but more handsome than me.”

He also revealed that his wife, former newscaster Sheahnee Iman Lee was also surprised to see it and said “Oh my God, when did you shoot this?”.

The following day, Naz sportingly uploaded a comparative video showing the South Korean actor and a scene from Jalan-Jalan Cari Makan which showed him smiling heartily at the dining table.

“Thus, my crew decided to show how similar we are, so let’s settle this once and for all,” he tweeted.

One Netizen Dib said: “He really looks a lot like you. I thought that’s your old modelling job.”

An amused Harith said: “That’s too funny bro!”

Naz who began his TV career hosting Kelab Disney Malaysia on TV3 in 2001, has also presented for Ringgit Sense and MyStarz.
