#Showbiz: Super Junior's Kyuhyun and family receive death threats

KUALA LUMPUR: We all know how fervid K-Pops fans can be when it comes to their favourite stars, but when things go overboard, situation can get pretty scary, as family members of Super Junior’s Kyuhyun a.k.a. Cho Kyu-hyun have encountered.

While the 30-year-old South Korean star is currently serving in the military, his family members have become the targets of an individual known as @hyori35 on Instagram.

Koreaboo recently reported that Kyuhyun’s sister, Ahra said that they had been the object of the stalker for the past three years. Besides hacking into their social media accounts, they had been receiving death threats.

“I’ve been trying to understand him/her many times. But it’s been 3 years stalking me, kyu, and my parents. Threatened to kill me... Even if I report to the police and block him, he annoys me again with a different account and stalks me...,” shared the violinist teacher on her Instagram.

She also said that the stalker would make telephone calls to her using different international phone numbers.

Ahra said she believed that the person’s location is not far from where they live, as once the stalker had shared a photo of their father eating at a restaurant alone.

@hyori35 once uploaded a photo of her and wrote a nasty caption: “This bitch right here is giving birth tomorrow, everyone! Let’s wish her a happy death. You really done a good job pretending to be nice. You and your beloved family, the most evil on this earth. Karma is coming to your @ss tomorrow honey, enjoy.”

Since Ahra’s revelation, Kyuhyun’s fans have started an awareness campaign to protect the family’s privacy by creating various hashtags such as #ProtectChoAhra and #ProtectKyuHyun on social media.

However, Ahra has since deleted all her postings related to the stalker and the IG account @Hyori35 no longer exist.

Meanwhile, Kyuhyun’s mandatory military service will end on May 24.
