#Showbiz: AJL 33 tickets are selling like hot cakes

SUBANG JAYA: Two weeks to the Anugerah Juara Lagu 33 (AJL33) and almost 70 per cent of the tickets to the annual song contest have been snapped up.

AJL33’s executive producer Nurhul Huda Khalid revealed yesterday that only 645 tickets were left, out of 5,000 when sales began last Jan 7.

“We won’t be having any theme for this year’s edition, but it’ll still be a mega concert like its predecessors. And the strong demand for the tickets clearly shows AJL remains popular as ever,” she said at a press conference to announce the order of AJL33 performances at Empire Hotel here, yesterday.

Nurhul Huda emphasised that AJL33 not only showcased artistes who performed the 12 qualifying songs, but also music legends and promising new stars.

“This time, we’ve got Search as our legendary artistes, and they’ll be joined by Nico G, Nabila Razali, Ismail Izzani and Sarah Suhairi,” she said.

Singer Alif Satar and comedienne Sherry Al Hadad return as co-hosts of the annual song competition, which will be broadcast live on TV3 from Axiata Arena, Bukit Jalil at 9pm on Feb 3.

The 12 songs that have made it to the final showdown are (in performance order) Luluh (Khai Bahar), Jatuh Bangun (Haqiem Rusli and Aman Ra), Kau Pun Sama (Syamel Fodzly), Tak Pernah Hilang (Amylea Azizan and Kaer Azami), Hajat (Hael Husaini), Nisan Cinta (Siti Nordiana and Jaclyn Victor), Di Matamu (Sufian Suhaimi), Bunga (De Fam), Semakin (Siti Sarah Raisuddin), Bunga (Ara Johari), "

Haram (Dayang Nurfaizah and Hael Husaini) and Sampai Bila (Misha Omar).

The only tickets available those priced at RM25. The RM35 and RM55 sold out yesterday. They can be obtained at www.myticket.asia.com
