#Showbiz: 'I was consumed by rage and admit I had crossed the line' — Chef Wan

KUALA LUMPUR: After his outburst on Sunday, during which he said that he felt like slapping Datuk Seri Najib Razak, celebrity chef Datuk Redzuawan Ismail has admitted his mistake and made a public apology to the former prime minister via his Instagram yesterday.

“... To DS Najib pagi ini saya memohon maaf secara terbuka kerana bahasa yg kasar saya telah guna kan di waktu saya merasa amat marah....Yes saya mengaku silap bila di rasuk syaitan dan naik marah...” (To Datuk Seri Najib, I’d like to openly apologise for having used harsh words against you. I was at the time consumed by rage and I admit I had crossed the line).

The garrulous and opinionated 61-year-old also said that if one had done a grave mistake, one should put his ego aside and admit wrong.

“... However that does not mean what I said yesterday was all untrue...as I stand by Allah’s name to speak out the truth...” he wrote.

Last Sunday, Chef Wan was reported to have made the controversial statement during a campaign programme for Pakatan Harapan at Felda Sungai Koyan.

The celebrated chef was dissatisfied with the administration of the previous government on issues concerning Felda settlers.
