#Showbiz: K-Pop idol spotting on Marvel comic book cover

KUALA LUMPUR: It seems like K-Pop culture is crossing into western pop culture as some fans of top Korean idols recently discovered.

According to Koreaboo, some fans noticed that a particular cover from the Marvel’s Runaways comic book series had some very distinct faces drawn on it.

It was the 11th issue of the superhero title from July 2018 with beautiful art that featured a crowd of people. Fans got excited when two of the faces in the whole bunch of people were none other than Red Velvet‘s Irene and BTS‘ V.

The drawing of Irene was apparently inspired from her Russian Roulette-era look, right down to her tiny hair clip, while V was featured from his War Of Hormone-era styling, complete with his leopard-print glasses and necklace detail.

Fans were clearly stunned by the revelation and expressed their love online to the writer and illustrator of the comic series for the most welcomed easter egg.

One wrote: “Now if that isn’t an amazing crossover, what is?”

Another said: “Oh my god my Marvel x BTS stan in me is thriving with Taehyung being on the Runaways cover. Now we just need them to be on the soundtrack of a Marvel movie!”
