#Showbiz: BTS' 'Map Of The Soul: Persona' first album to sell 2mil copies on Hanteo!

KUALA LUMPUR: Uber popular K-Pop group BTS has been making pretty remarkable milestones around the world, especially in the US. But the seven-member South Korean music outfit is also creating history back home.

According to Allkpop, the international group’s latest album, Map Of The Soul: Persona, had recently exceeded two million copies in sales on the Hanteo chart.

This makes BTS, which is under Big Hit Entertainment, the first ever artiste to achieve that milestone mark on the Hanteo chart, which is one of Korea’s major music charts.

It was also reported that the new album had become the fastest-selling album on Hanteo as well, with more than 1.38 million copies sold in just about three hours.

On a different note, BTS has been getting a lot of interest from Korea’s top radio show Bae Chul Soo’s Music Camp which is known to focus strongly on international pop songs.

According to Allkpop, the show had played the group’s new song, Boy With Luv, which features American singer-songwriter Halsey, yesterday.

This was an anomaly since it’s apparently very rare for any K-Pop tracks to get played during the programme. But during that particular session, Bae, who is considered one of Korea’s premiere radio personalities, said: “BTS hit No. 1 on the Billboard Album Chart. They’re also on the verge of hitting the top spot on the UK album charts. I heard they sold out the Wembley Stadium venue in England. I’ve also been to Wembley and even interviewed the man who’s in charge. It’s very big. Not many artistes can sell out. I’m so proud.”

The talk show host then put out an informal invitation for BTS to guest on his show and added: “Why aren’t they coming on Bae Chul Soo’s Music Camp? They’re a global artiste. They need to come. BTS associates, please deliver my invite if you’re listening to this. I’ll be waiting.”
