What did you have for breakfast today? These folks had a serving of Avengers: Endgame!

PETALING JAYA: Diehard fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) filled up cinemas in the Klang Valley early this morning to become among the first in the world to catch the latest Avengers saga, Avengers: Endgame.

At TGV Sunway Pyramid, some arrived as early as 6.15am to catch the screening of the movie at 7.30am.

Taylor’s University Kenny Lau Hua, 22, said he had been waiting for the moment for so long, and could not contain his excitement.

“This movie is unlike others that I have watched. Normally, I would take my time to watch movies, depending on my mood. But Avengers: Endgame is one that I have been waiting to watch since last year. I think it is worth waking up early in the morning to be among the first to watch the movie.

“I want to avoid as many spoilers as I can. Even as I was scrolling through Facebook last night, I saw many potential spoilers already, including statuses, pictures and postings! I have been waiting to watch this movie since Infinity War. I do not want spoilers to ruin my mood,” he added.

Another Marvel fan Caleb Devanesar, 27 took a 40 minute drive from Selayang to catch the earliest show possible, with his cousins.

“I woke up at 5.30am to make sure I am here on time. This is the Endgame. Of course I wouldn’t miss it for the world. If it was some other movie, I wouldn’t bother coming here so early,” said the engineer.

Caleb added they were able to get good seats for the show as only two to three rows were filled when they bought the tickets.

“We got seats in the middle, which I think is really good,” he said, beaming.

Cheok Jian Jie, 26, also rose early, at 6am, to get to TGV 1Utama on time, for the long awaited movie.

“Even though I live in Kepong which is only 15 minutes away, I still got up early. I do not want to get stuck in the traffic jam and arrive late. That would spoil the day,” he added.

Cheok has been an Iron Man fan since the beginning of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) journey.

“He has cool stuff, armours, and weapons. A billionaire and philanthropist, he's my ultimate superhero," he added.

Muhammad Nabhan Mohamed Nadzri, 18, came all the way from Sungai Buloh to TGV 1Utama to catch the movie's first screening with his friends.

“I woke up at around 5am and took the first MRT train from Sungai Buloh to Bandar Utama, which took about 30 minutes.

“I am very excited about this movie because I want to see my favourite hero Ant-Man back in action together with other Avengers’ members,” he added.

Nabhan said Ant-Man could have a crucial role in the movie. There have been theories circulating the Internet that he could be a game-changer for the MCU.

“For now, Ant-Man is my favourite hero. I hope he would live up to my expectations and play a key role to an Avengers' victory against Thanos in Endgame,” he said.

Avengers: Endgame is now showing on big screen cinemas nationwide.
