KUALA LUMPUR: When many artistes are normally accompanied by their managers to events, actress Nora Danish goes a step further — she has bodyguards within her arm’s length.
Apparently, her husband businessman Nedim Nadzri is concerned about his wife’s safety when she goes out in public and has hired two personal bodyguards for the purpose.
At the preview screening of Ramadan Astro 2019 on the set of TV show MeleTOP in Bukit Jalil here yesterday, the 37-year-old artiste who attended the event was seen with two smartly attired serious-looking young men.
“At first I was not comfortable having them following me around, but since Nedim insisted that they are with me for my own safety, I’ve gotten used to their presence,” said Nora on her two security personnel who were hired after she became Mrs Nedim a couple of years ago.
She said at the beginning, she had her bodyguards to just wait for her at the car, but that didn’t augur well with her 36-year-old husband who insisted that the men be around her at all times when she is out.
“Nedim reasons that before any untoward incident happens to me, it is better that precautions are taken.
“Honestly speaking, I do feel very safe knowing that they are keeping a watchful eye on me.”
Asked if the presence of the bodyguards had kept her fans away from approaching her for selfies, Nora said: “Not at all. They are not intimidating like that but they would ensure that order is maintained, that’s all.”
