KUALA LUMPUR: Celebrity Ifa Raziah apparently utilises the services of four to five personal bodyguards whenever she attends big events.
The 48-year-old singer, actress and host said that she has been using them since 2019 to ensure her personal security at all times.
"During the previous Covid-19 pandemic, they would make sure that there was social distancing between the public and myself.
"They would also manage the flow of those who want to snap a photo with me and more.
"I see this as a necessity. If I need five, then I'll hire five personnel. Usually, it's four at the very least," she said in a recent Harian Metro report.
She reiterated that it was done for her personal safety but it would also depend on the particular situation.
"If I'm just attending a filming session, then I wouldn't need their services since I'd already have my team, which includes my husband, makeup artist and personal assistant, with me," she said.
Ifa added that the bodyguards would ensure the safety of any room she was in, as well as provide protection for the VIP guests who come to see her.
"For big events that have massive crowds, I would certainly have to hire them.
"They will accompany me wherever I go, including when I actually do my work right up to my bedroom door in a hotel.
"They would enter first to ensure the room is safe before I go in and even when I want to eat anything, they will check it first to see if it's alright.
"During my work commitments, they would also be close by.
"At the same time, my work as an event organiser also sees me receiving VIP guests from time to time. So, they would ensure the safety of my guests as well," she said.
