#Showbiz: Jacqueline Wong's Malaysian scenes in cookery show to be reshot

KUALA LUMPUR: After her scandalous affair with Andy Hui, Hong Kong actress Jacqueline Wong will have her recent scenes for a show in Malaysia reshot by the producers.

Asia News Network recently reported that Wong’s appearance in her friend Chris Lai Lok Yi’s popular cookery show Men’s Kitchen will be replaced by that of a new celebrity guest.

“I think this is the best solution for all of us,” said Lai, who is also an actor.

He added that the new celebrity who will replace Wong is his friend of 16 years, actor Mat Yeung.

Men’s Kitchen is a 10-episode Cantonese series, filmed in Thailand, Singapore, India, Turkey, Japan, France and Malaysia. Two of the 30-minute weekly episodes have featured locations in Malaysia which include George Town, Ipoh and the federal capital.

Last month, Lai and Wong were in Penang for the filming.

Wong, 30, had even posted several photos on Instagram featuring the street art in George Town.

When asked if Wong had apologised for causing her scenes to be reshot, Lai said they had not been in touch since her scandal with Hui emerged.

“We are all adults, and I understand the situation. It’s best to leave her alone and give her space.

“The apology is irrelevant at this point in time,” said Lai.

Last month, Hui, 51, and Wong were caught kissing at the back of a taxi in a video which went viral.

Hui is married to singer-actor Sammi Cheng.

Television station Hong Kong Television Broadcasts (TVB) recently announced that it would reshoot over 50 scenes of its upcoming drama Forensic Heroes IV, replacing Wong with a new actress.
