#Showbiz: 'You can make it adik! You are stronger than me!' - Afdlin

KUALA LUMPUR: It has been another painful Hari Raya for multi-talented Datuk Afdlin Shauki.

The 48-year-old artiste lost his mother last year, and this time, his younger brother has been badly hurt in an accident.

Afdlin’s youngest sibling, video editor Jefri Adzman Aksan, 38, is in critical condition at Thomson Hospital, Kota Damansara in Petaling Jaya following a brain surgery yesterday.

He was involved in a road accident not far from his house in Kota Damansara around 1.30pm yesterday, and suffered serious head injuries after his motorcycle collided with a car.

“Jefri was on his way to my house in Wangsa Maju for Raya, and was riding his motorcycle when the accident happened. Doctors removed a blood clot in his brain around 6.30pm yesterday, and he has not regained consciousness yet,” said Afdlin.

“My siblings and I are keeping vigil at the hospital. The doctors will inform us of his condition soon, and we’re praying hard that he will be out of danger.”

In an Instagram post yesterday which showed a photograph of Jefri, the youngest of 10 siblings, Afdlin said: “Dear God, please save my brother Jefri. He is the best little brother anyone can have. Please bring him back to normal. And to all my friends and fans, please pray for him. You can make it adik! You are stronger than me!”

Netizens offered kind and comforting words for Afdlin, and joined him in praying for Jefri’s recovery.

“May God help ease his pain. Get well soon Jefri,” said Khatijah.

“By God’s will, may Jefri overcome this. My prayers for you and family. This hurts me so much as I just wished him Happy Raya,” said Hassan.

“My prayers for your brother Datuk. May Jefri have a safe and speedy recovery,” said Zana.

Afdlin’s mother Fadzilah Jelani died at the age of 70 at the National Heart Institute, Jalan Tun Razak, on Oct 15 last year.
