#Showbiz: Eizlan Yusof seeks apology from the police

KUALA LUMPUR: Producer and actor Datuk Seri Eizlan Yusof is giving the police till end of this month to apologise to him for issuing a differing statement to the press.

He said that he was shocked to read a news report quoting the police denying that his son Zareef Yusof, 9, was in the accident which had involved two vehicles, in Sungai Besar on July 11.

According to the report, it said that the police had claimed that the accident involved the crew of a drama production who were on their way to the filming set.

It even quoted Sabak Bernam deputy police chief Lim Chee Khoon as saying that the accident involved a Toyota Vios with two women aged 23 and 43 in it, and a Proton Wira driven by a 48-year-old male.

“That statement is totally untrue and it will only cause confusion to the public who may have heard the news of the accident which had gone viral earlier that morning,” said the 48-year-old father of three.

“It’s not my intention to create trouble, but am merely seeking a public apology from the police as these differing statements can give a negative impact on me and my family,” he said at a special press conference held at Finas’ Studio Merdeka Complex here today.

Eizlan said that should he not receive an apology by the given time, he may consider taking legal action.

Last Thursday, Zareef who was on his way to the filming location for Mak Cun Season 5, driven by his aunt, Nur Zuriati Mohd Rijaluddin, 23, met with an accident in Parit Gambut in Sungai Besar. He however escaped unharmed.
