#Showbiz: No parents want to see their child fail, says Yusof Haslam

KUALA LUMPUR: Actor and film producer Datuk Yusof Haslam says his son Syamsul Yusof hasn't been in touch with him for some time now because he is busy filming his new project, 'Original Gangster'.

According to a news report, Yusof, 69, last met with his 39-year-old son, who is also an actor and filmmaker, in 2022 when Yusof's mother-in-law was ill.

"As parents, both my wife and I are always praying for the best for Syamsul. No parents would want to see their child fail.

"Similarly, I'm sure there are no children who don't love their parents. Maybe he is still a little upset, but as the holy month of Ramadan is approaching, let's pray for things to get better," he said.

Yusof added that he also didn't want to comment further as he didn't want to make the relationship among his family members worse, and didn't want to offend his wife, Patimah Ismail.

Earlier, Yusof was quoted as saying that Syamsul had not visited he and his wife in while, and did not know why he was avoiding them.
